It is a sad and upsetting story to be sure. I don't know what I will do yet but you can depend on the fact that I won't be paying the £120.not now, not tomorrow, not ever. I could live without the whole experience but may take the opportunity to replace the pick ups with something tasty and the whole wiring harness with one from TVJ because I have some concerns about the wiring on the guitar. I am happy to work on my own gear if only to make sure it's done to an appropriate standard. It's a slow route but if it goes wrong I only have myself to blame. I'm thinking that doing it myself is likely to be the way ahead. I won't be paying the invoice but now I have to find a way to undo the damage and get the job done properly. £120 to replace ONE LOUSY POT and to make a complete mess of it at that. He then had the cheek to ask for £120 for the job claiming it took 2 !/2 hrs to fit the MV pot. Instead he passed the job onto some idiot with zero Gretsch experience who fitted some cheap POS pot to the master volume then gave up having screwed up the set up of the guitar.
